Our Service

We offer door to door transport for local people who are unable to access public or community transport. To access the service please call us on 07717 006787. Your call will be answered by a LINK Co-ordinator who will take details of your request and assign it to one of our volunteer drivers. Please leave a message if there is no answer and we will call you back.

We can provide transport to people in the following areas: Great Bedwyn, Little Bedwyn, St Katherines, East and West Grafton, Wilton, Marten, Wexcombe.

We take people to local doctors, opticians and dentist appointments and other clinical services. We can offer transport for activities such as lunch clubs, but may need to prioritise essential medical trips depending on volunteer capacity. LINK Coordinators are happy to receive enquiries from people personally, or on their behalf through their Doctors, Nurses, Social Services, friends or relatives.

The Wiltshire Connect Bus Service is another option covering the Bedwyn’s for people needing transport. Find out more about this service here.

As a charity we rely solely on client and other donations to fund the service we provide. Our volunteer drivers carry dedicated envelopes for clients to use and leave their donation with the driver in appreciation of the service provided.

To arrange transport please call 07717 006787 to speak to the LINK Co-ordinator. You can make a call for yourself or on behalf someone else. Please note our telephone line is operational Monday-Friday 9am-1pm, but is not available on bank holidays. Pre-booked transport is available outside these hours, including at weekends.

Yes please, we could not operate without the support of our wonderful volunteer drivers, committee members and Co-ordinators. A mileage allowance is paid to our volunteer drivers. To find out more about volunteering, please visit our volunteering page.

We help those most in need in our community and each request will be considered by the LINK co-ordinator. It is often necessary for co-ordinators to prioritise requests, normally journeys for medical appointments are given priority and any request accepted is subject to volunteer availability.

The service is not restricted to a particular age group or those with a physical or mental infirmity. However, volunteers can only transport children under eleven years of age if a suitable car seat is provided and fitted by their parent or guardian. Children between 11 and 18 years of age can only be transported if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Small caged domestic animals and assistance dogs may be transported when accompanied by their owner. Prior agreement with the LINK co-ordinator and volunteer driver is essential for all of these ‘special’ cases.

We can provide transport for health related trips to local doctors’ surgeries, dentists, opticians, audiologists, physiotherapists and hospitals. We can also offer transport for social visits and activities, for example to mobility classes and lunch clubs, but may need to prioritise essential health related trips for the most vulnerable depending on volunteer capacity.
